MARQUEZ BROTHERS EL MEXICANO BRAND RENEWS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH FRESNO FUEGO

Leader in Hispanic Foods Continues its Longstanding Support for Fresno Soccer

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Fuego F.C. announced today that it has renewed its sponsorship relationship with Marquez Brother El Mexicano Brand for the 2016 Premier Development League season.  This is the Mexican food giant’s fourteenth season as the primary sponsor for the Fresno team, making it one of the longest and most successful team associations in PDL history.

The Marquez Brother El Mexicano Brand logo will be prominently placed on all team apparel and most of the merchandise available to the Fuego’s loyal fans.  The substantial financial support from Marquez Brothers El Mexicano Brand is a primary reason why the Fuego was able to recruit it’s first-ever, full-time Head Coach, Sean Lanigan, and some highly-qualified associate coaches.

“Fresno Fuego FC is both a soccer player development platform and a business and securing sponsorships from local companies and organizations is a key element of our business plan each year,” said Chris Cummings, Fuego President.  “We have high expectations of our players and team, and our sponsors have high expectations that their sponsorship investments are going to help them achieve their business goals.  We are doubly grateful that El Mexicano is demonstrating their continuing loyalty and financial commitment to the club again this year.  A winning company supporting a winning team benefits everyone.”

“Our company and all of our employees are proud to be associated with the Fuego Futbol Club,” said Jaime Marquez, Jr., Vice President El Mexicano.  “We recognize the importance of supporting our local PDL team so they can achieve their commitment of developing youth soccer talent from the bottom to the top of the very active club system in the Central Valley.  We look forward to seeing a very competitive Fuego team on the pitch this year.”

Fresno Fuego hosted its annual Winter Combine in January to start the process of finding the best local players to fill out the roster of 24-28 players needed to be competitive for this coming season.  The club also recently hosted its annual professional exhibition’s playing against FC Ararat Yerevan of Armenia, New York Cosmos of the NASL, and MLS hopeful Sacramento Republic FC of the USL.  In between the Combine and exhibition season, Coach Lanigan and General Manager Jeremy Schultz have been working with their many USL and MLS team contacts to get player referrals of bright prospects from their Academy systems to supplement players from the Central Valley area.  Due to Coach Lanigan’s extensive network of international contacts, dozens of players from all over the world have applied to join Fuego this year.

Fresno Fuego will begin PDL play against defending conference champions Burlingame Dragons, the MLS San Jose Earthquakes PDL affiliate at Chukchansi Park on Friday May 6th at 7:30pm.  The match will be presented by Marquez Brothers El Mexicano Brand and fans can enjoy a post-game fireworks show in celebration of the 2016 season.  Fuego game tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the following game link, bit.ly/FuegoTickets.  Tickets are also available at the Chukchansi Park Box Office (open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm), or by calling 1-559-320-TIXS (8497).
