MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER MAKES A STOP IN FRESNO

Fresno Fuego Set to Play the San Jose Earthquakes in Exhibition Match

FRESNO, CA – The Fresno Fuego announce today a scheduled exhibition match with MLS club San Jose Earthquakes. The exhibition match will be played at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, Calif. Friday, February 20 at 7:00p.m.

“It is an exciting time for our organization; these are the moments our young aspiring players dream of…to play against the best teams and players in our country,” Fresno Fuego General Manager Jeremy Schultz said. “San Jose has a rich history of soccer tradition at the professional level and we are elated to have them chose to visit Fresno as a final stop in preparation for their 2009 MLS Season.”

San Jose comes to Fresno in its second year of existence after taking a two-year hiatus from MLS action. The Earthquakes were an MLS powerhouse from 2000 until the team moved to Houston in 2005. Headlining the Earthquakes’ roster is two-time MLS Goalkeeper of the Year winner Joe Cannon and former English Premier League midfielder Darren Huckerby.

General Admission tickets are $10.00 and VIP 600 Club is $20.00. Tickets will be available at the Chukchansi Park Box Office, 559-320-TIXS. Group rate packages are available by calling 559-320-2521.
