CHUKCHANSI PARK WILL HOST TWO FRESNO FUEGO MATCHES TONIGHT
Fuego will play San Jose Earthquakes (PDL) after reserve match against La Raza FFC (UPSL)

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Fuego will host back-to-back soccer games tonight at Chukchansi Park as the club kicks off Memorial Day weekend with Military Appreciation Day. A doubleheader of soccer begins at 4:15 p.m. tonight with the Fresno Fuego reserves playing United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) member La Raza FFC, while the marquee match between the San Jose Earthquakes (USL PDL) and Fresno Fuego (USL PDL) begins at 7:00 p.m. Gates to the park open at 3:30 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Mini Soccer Ball, courtesy of Bimbo.

Complimentary general admission passes for the soccer doubleheader can be downloaded from www.FresnoFuego.com. Fans can also purchase CRU Club tickets for only $10 at the Chukchansi Park Box Office.

La Raza FFC (UPSL) is local to Fresno and a defending National Champion of the North Cup Sub 18.

“The reserves match at Chukchansi Park will showcase current and future Fuego players who are competing for positions within the Fuego first team. The second match will give fans a glimpse at future stars of Major League Soccer as the San Jose Earthquakes PDL team competes against our community team, ” stated Jeremy Schultz, Fresno Fuego General Manager.  “The Fuego continue to strive to maintain our goal of providing a platform for our local players to be showcased for the opportunity to move up the ranks of professional soccer. It is an honor for our club to host the San Jose Earthquakes and we expect it will be an exciting game for our fans.”

The Fuego search for their first win in league play after dropping their first two matches to BYU and the LA Misioneros.

The 2014 Fresno Fuego roster features local players Paul Islas, Eddie Gonzalez, Beau Diaz, Elliott Hord, Christian Chaney, Cesar Hernandez (Bullard High), Robert Garcia, Francisco Hernandez (Hoover High), Jose Cuevas (Farmersville High) Gregory Antognoli, (San Joaquin Memorial), Jorge Dominguez (Duncan Poly), Tyler Reinhart (Clovis West), Cody Ellison (Clovis High), Jesus Garcia (Clovis East High), Trevor Spurgeon, JP Medina (Buchanan High), Abraham Campos (Golden West), Luis Najera Jr. (Tulare Western), Gaston Cignetti, Gustavo Silva (Fresno Pacific University), Alexis Hernandez (Monache), Omar Santoyo (Roosevelt), Jonathan Colunga (Lindsay High), Emmanuel Ochoa (Sanger), Justin Finch (Bakersfield), and Andres Lopez (Madera). Cesar Castillo, Anthony Salciccia, Alfred Edmonds, and Kurtis Bettencourt join the local talents to deepen the roster.
