Fresno Fuego Soccer

In 2003, the PDL had a newcomer… Fresno Fuego. The USL and fans across the nation embraced the team in every away appearance. That lead Fresno (14-4-0) to a 4th Round U.S. Open Cup showdown with MLS powerhouse L.A. Galaxy.

“This 2004 season is a different reel.” said coach Jaime Ramirez. “We are out of the Cup but let’s make this one a different movie… a different ending.” coach Ramirez added.

Fresno is aware of the Boulder RR, Chicago FR, DFW Tornados, EP Pats, Cascade Surge and neighbor nemesis OC Bluestar. The obstacles are endless but only the strong survive. These teams mentioned are the PDL’s elite. The Fuego must overcome each obstacle for their target… the PDL Championship!

Fresno, coming off a victory versus the San Diego Gauchos 5-1 on “Father’s Day Sunday”, had the privilege of hosting PDL Commissioner Steve Clamp. Fresno is now 11-1-1 and at top of the PDL with 34 points. One more victory and the Fuego secures a play-off berth.

This season, the Fuego has a different goal. The goal is the championship. Every team in the U.S. and Canada are out for the same prize. The time where champions stand out from the regulars. And the time where only the strong survive. This years reel is for real… and the newcomer has stepped closer to veteran status.

This 2004 season will be a different movie for the Fuego.
