Fresno Loses In Overtime

After fighting back twice Friday night to eventually evening the score at 2-2 just before the final whistle, the Fuego loses in the first over time. Down 1-0 Edgardo Contraras scores to even the score 1-1 as he applauds the crowd of nearly 1,000. The Fuego fell behind as a free kick for the Gold was deflected and found its way in to the back of the net. With less than two minutes to play Jose Espindola flicks the ball on to Eric Farfan who scores and celebrates by kicking the ball into the fans who were all standing and cheering. The Gold gave the Fuego much more respect than the first time they met and brought a much more thought out game plan to finally catch the Fuego in the first sudden death overtime.

Seahorses Find The Same Result In Fresno

The PDL goal scoring leader, Edgardo Contrerras, lights up the scoreboard with his 9th and 10th goals of the season in front of the Fuego’s home crowd Sunday afternoon. The Fuego come out on top for the second time this season against the Seahorses this time winning in front of their home crowd.

Another Success Filled Weekend

On Friday night the Fuego continued with their already impressive inaugural season beating the Nevada Wonder 3-0. The Fuego had three different players find the back of the net against the Wonder, Fabricio Codeceira, Tim Mckiney, and Raul Rivera. Francisco Alvarez and Nick Hammond share the shut out. Nick Hammond stopping a penalty to keep the shut out in tact.

Fuego Wins In San Diego 3-0

The Gauchos of San Diego wanted some revenge as the Fuego traveled down to San Diego for a Saturday night game. Edgardo Contrerras, Rojas Padilla, and Raul Rivera all scored shattering the hopes of a Gaucho win. The veteran goalkeeper Francisco Alvarez and Nick Hammond combine in goal for the shut-out.

BACK TO BACK WINS!

Another exciting game against the San Diego Gauchos a team from the USL Pro Select League. The Fuego proves again that the talent in the valley is some of the best in the country. Edgardo Contrerras and Orlando Ramirez both score on a beautiful day at San Joaquin Memorial Stadium. The Fuego win 2-0 and beat their second PDL Pro Select opponent.

REVENGE FOR THE FUEGO

After suffering their first loss of the season, the Fuego bounced back with a great win Friday night at home over the Orange County Blue Star to stay ahead in PDL Southwest division. The 3-1 win was accomplished by two goals from Edgardo Contrerras and one from Fresno Pacific University standout Orlando Ramirez.

FUEGO SUFFERS FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

In the second game of a two game road trip the Fuego suffered it’s first loss. The Fuego jumped out to an early lead on a Jose Delgadillo free-kick goal. The Blue Star were up to the challenge and continued to push the Fuego knowing they had just come off a hard battle with the Southern California Seahorses the night before. The Fuego lose 1-3 but will have a chance for some revenge on Friday night at home as the Blue Star travel to Fresno.

THE FUEGO RACKS UP AN IMPORTANT WIN DOWN IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

The Fuego started their first roadtrip off on the right foot beating the Seahorses 4-1. The Fuego offense proved to be too much for the Seahorses as Orlando Ramirez and Eddie Gutierrez both score two goals in the victory.
